The Chicagoland area Curling Club

The Spirit of Curling. “Curlers play to win but never to humble their opponents. A true curler would prefer to lose rather than win unfairly. The spirit of the game demands good sportsmanship and honorable conduct.”

The Exmoor Advantage. Exmoor has offered curling for over seventy uninterrupted years. Exmoor curling progressed from one outdoor rink to having four fine indoor ice sheets. The Exmoor curling house includes a bar, grill, casual dining area and a large comfortable lounge with unobstructed viewing windows.

Exmoor has hosted many prestigious local, state, national and international competitions. Exmoor’s Men’s Continental Bonspiel just celebrated its 53rd year in which forty teams participated, including a number from Canada.

The Curling facilities of the Club will be available for full use to all classes of Membership and Bonspiels and Special Events as announced. The Curling Season is broken down into two halves, the first starting in mid-October and ending before Christmas and the other starting right after New Year's and continues until mid-March.

History of Exmoor Country Club & Curling

The Chicagoland's North Shore Premier Curling Club

Curling is Fun for Everyone!

It is an ice game played in a competitive, but friendly, spirit… a sport for all ages that promises fitness, fun and finesse. Its 500-year tradition of camaraderie is the special feature that sets curling apart from all other competitive sports.

Curling has enjoyed growing popularity, both on the North Shore and worldwide. The 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia included U.S. Men’s and Women’s Curling Teams. Our own Ann Swisshelm represented Exmoor in the Women’s 2004 Winter Olympic Curling Competition.

As a team game, curling is especially attractive to many new members. You can compete against other new curlers and develop your skills by playing with those who are more experienced.

As the new season draws near, now is the time to be part of this growing sport. It is easy to learn and does not require any special equipment. Just stop by the curling house and see for yourself!

One of Exmoor's very own AndrewStopera was a silver medalist on the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships was named the 2017 Team of the Year by USA Curling. Click here to read about the the special award!

Exmoor Country Club offers a unique opportunity to experience the Exmoor lifestyle. The Winter Program provides full use of the club amenities, dining and social options and sports from October 1st through  March 31st.  The Winter Program includes platform tennis,
curling, ice skating, cross-country skiing, dining and our many social events.
Built in 2015, The Oakhouse blends our curling and platform tennis facilities to offer a casual, one-of-a-kind dining area accessible by members and their families.   At the conclusion of the first winter
season, associates in the winter program are invited to continue with a request for Winter Social, Regular or Social Membership. Associates are limited to two seasons and must continue with another category of membership in order to benefit from the amenities and lifestyle of Exmoor Country Club.

Please feel free to give me a call or email with questions regarding the Winter Associate/Winter Social Membership or Membership in general at our wonderful Club!
